Come and give it a try
Little Athletics is a great sport for all kids from five to fifteen. There's everything from running and jumping to throwing and walking. And don't think you're too slow: you're not!
Read more about Little Athletics in this Wikipedia article on the History of Little Athletics (Wikipedia is an online encyclopaedia).
The IAAF Competition Rules 2008 manual is also surprisingly readable. The latest edition has 243 pages all-up and is guaranteed to resolve those nagging questions about jumps, angles, high jump tie breakers, lane widths and more. You simply won't put it down. You can download it via the link above in pdf format (file size 1.3MB).

There are Little Athletics clubs throughout Tasmania and on the mainland. Some are small, like St Helens, while one of the Launceston clubs has over 300 members. Regional and statewide competitions are held in Hobart, Launceston and on the North West coast.
Where and when
Our venue is Sandown Park in Lower Sandy Bay. Take the turn off towards Nutgrove Beach on the left just before the shops.

As Mary knows, parents are just as important as kids because we need their help for things to run smoothly every Saturday. If you've got any special skills or training, perhaps you'd like to help on our club committee?

Thanks...
...to those parents who have been helping out above and beyond the normal call of Saturday morning duty. Step forward please, Craig Proctor, who has recently designed and built the club a hurdles trolley, greatly speeding up the process of moving hurdles from storage to the track. Belated thanks also to Mark O'Conor who built the covers for the long jump pit extension.
Also thanks to all the parents that have helped out at the barbeque in recent weeks. Our thanks again to our new sponsor Get Smart I.T. Solutions for providing the aprons.
Lots of events to choose from
Queenborough athletes shine
Our athletes won over 30 medals during the March long weekend's State Championships held at the St Leonards track. Just nine athletes and two relay teams were responsible for this massive haul.
