About Us

This is what Queenborough Little Athletics is all about.

Queenborough Little Athletics Centre is based at Sandown Park in Lower Sandy Bay on a lovely grass track lined by trees.  We provide a safe environment for children to compete, have fun and strive for their personal best at running, jumping, walking and throwing events.  Little Athletics’ motto is Family, Fun and Fitness.

Age categories range from 5 to 14 years, so Under 15 is the end of a Little Athletics career but for many the beginning of club athletics.  The season runs from October to March with State Championships at the end of the season. You don't have to be the fastest runner, best jumper or longest thrower, because every individual has a goal. Times and distances are properly measured and rules fairly applied.  Award badges are granted for personal improvements.

Saturday Meetings start at 8.45am.

Twilight Meetings start at 5.30pm.

For details of all meetings go to the Calendar on our website.  This includes all Centre, Regional and State events.

Cancellations due to weather are advised on radio station 101.7 7HO-FM before 8am on Saturdays. Usually, cancelled Saturday meetings will be held as a twilight meeting the following Wednesday at 5.30pm.  See the website for details of cancellations.

Centre colours are a white top with navy blue shorts.

Parents are required to attend and supervise their children.  The Centre cannot accept responsibility for children left at the venue without parental supervision.  Children should bring hats to wear when not competing and a drink bottle.  Shoes must be worn by athletes at all times.

We encourage parents to be voluntary helpers in activities ranging from measuring jumps and throws, starting or timing races, recording results of events and helping in the canteen
