Little Aths awards
Athletes can be awarded badges throughout the season for improving their own personal improvement, for reaching qualifying standards for their age group or for participation and attendance at our club.  Awards are in the form of badges which are sewn onto the back of the athlete's shirt.  There are three levels of Personal Improvement Awards, Green, Blue and Red, and also Personal Best Badges and Gold Stars if you achieve a qualifying standard.  To collect an award you need to submit your manual, ticket book and details of the award that you wish to collect to the Awards Officer, Karen, or see your yellow Information manual for more details.
Throwing the javelin is harder than it looks, so younger children use a smaller, lighter and safer Turbo Javelin

Training at Queenborough
Ever wondered how to throw a javelin properly?  Or triple jump?  How do you determine the winner in the case of a countback in the high jump?  At what age can you do the Fosbury Flop?

Here's a coaching manual that explains all those athletic events making up the Little Athletics program.  Download it and print out the pages you need.  Talk to an Education Officer if you have questions.
